The Renaissance Hunt V

... from the archived correspondence of Her Royal Majesty, Elizabeth I of England

To Her Royal Majesty
Elizabeth R.

If it may please Your Royal Majesty, I am sorry to trouble you so often as I do, but I would neglect my duty were I not to make known to you the most excellent work of Masters Perryn Peterson, Mike Olbracht, and Wyvern Dryke, and the many merchants of Your Realm to execute your Royal Writ for a Faire and Hunt.

Docks at Mieville Shelley

Faire visitors will arrive at the docks of Mieville Shelley where, as you will see from the Royal Engraver’s print enclosed herewith, the area is surrounded by shops selling all manner of goods. It is arranged that as visitors enter the Faire through the main gates, they shall receive instruction on completing the grand hunt across the realm as well as how to search for small treasures hidden around the Faire itself. Beyond the gates stretch merchant stalls, wagons and tents as well as recreations for the people.

Faire Entertainments

In sum, it is an event, if I might be so bold as to say … fit for a Queen.

Octauo et uicensimo Augusto.
Your Majesty’s at commandment, W. Cecil, Lord High Treasurer
